Abstract We show how a relativistic Langevin equation can be derived from Lorentz-covariant version of the Caldeira–Leggett particle-bath Lagrangian. In one its limits, we identify obtained with used in contemporary extensions statistical mechanics to near-light-speed motion tagged particle non-relativistic dissipative fluids. The proposed framework provides more rigorous and first-principles form weakly-relativistic partially-relativistic equations often quoted or postulated as ansatz previous works. then refine aforementioned results obtain generalized valid for case both fully-relativistic bath, using an analytical approximation numerics where Fourier modes bath are systematically replaced covariant plane-wave forms length-scale correction that depends on space-time trajectory parabolic way. The Langevin Equation for a Quantum Heat Bath
We compute the quantum Langevin equation (or quantum stochastic differential equation) representing the action of a quantum heat bath at thermal equilibrium on a simple quantum system. These equations are obtained by taking the continuous limit of the Hamiltonian description for repeated quantum interactions with a sequence of photons at a given density matrix state. In particular we specialise...
متن کاملRelativistic Quantization and Improved Equation for a Free Relativistic Particle
Usually the only difference between relativistic quantization and standard one is that the Lagrangian of the system under consideration should be Lorentz invariant. The standard approaches are logically incomplete and produce solutions with unpleasant properties: negative-energy, superluminal propagation etc. We propose a two-projections scheme of (special) relativistic quantization. The first ...
متن کاملRelativistic Brownian motion: from a microscopic binary collision model to the Langevin equation.
The Langevin equation (LE) for the one-dimensional relativistic Brownian motion is derived from a microscopic collision model. The model assumes that a heavy pointlike Brownian particle interacts with the lighter heat bath particles via elastic hard-core collisions. First, the commonly known, nonrelativistic LE is deduced from this model, by taking into account the nonrelativistic conservation ...
متن کامل0 A ug 2 00 5 Relativistic Navier - Stokes Equation from a Gauge - invariant Lagrangian
A relativistic Navier-Stokes equation is constructed as the equation of motion of a gauge-invariant bosonic lagrangian. It is shown that the quantum-electrodynamic-like lagrangian is suitable for this purpose with a particular form of gauge field, A µ = φ, A ≡ −c 2 1 − | v| 2 /c 2 , − v. The equation of motion coincides with the classical Navier-Stokes equation at non-relativistic limit | v| ≪ c.
متن کاملDynamics of relativistic particle with Lagrangian dependent on acceleration
Models of relativistic particle with Lagrangian L(k1), depending on the curvature of the worldline k1, are considered. By making use of the Frenet basis, the equations of motion are reformulated in terms of the principal curvatures of the worldline. It is shown that for arbitrary Lagrangian function L(k1) these equations are completely integrable, i.e., the principal curvatures are defined by i...
